According to Pistorius, negotiations on financing aid to Ukraine are continuing in the German government.
“We have prepared everything we need for the 3 billion aid package, but we are still in the process of negotiations within the government, because there is still a question of funds that do not yet exist, because there is still no budget. This is simply a fiscal problem in the government. We are working on this and I remain optimistic that we will find a solution,” the minister said and expressed hope that 54 new German RCH 155 wheeled howitzers will arrive in Ukraine as soon as possible.
According to Pistorius, no matter what the results of the elections in Germany after February 23, Berlin's support will remain “reliable, unwavering, loyal and energetic.” “No doubt about that.”
Pistorius also said that he arrived in Ukraine to discuss close industrial cooperation, increasing joint ventures and direct purchases from the Ukrainian defense industry with the support of European funds.
