The General Staff commented on the transfer of military personnel from the Air Force to the infantry:

The General Staff commented on the information about the transfer of key technical specialists from the Air Force to the infantry. In a statement published on Facebook, they assured that “there was no plan and is no plan to transfer the acutely shortage of specialists from the Air Force's engineering and aviation service servicing aircraft to infantry units.”

According to this report, the Air Force is increasing the regular number of technical and flight personnel. But certain categories of Air Force personnel, which and other branches and types of the Armed Forces, “after preliminary training in training centers, are reinforcing the Ground and Airborne Assault Troops.”

“The situation at the front is difficult, in many areas there is a shortage of infantrymen. The decision to reinforce the ground brigades on the front line with servicemen from units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a forced step by the military leadership to strengthen our defense,” the General Staff said.

They added that the commander-in-chief had banned the transfer of high-tech specialists, as well as those who had been trained abroad on foreign weapons and equipment.

Today, the defenders of the aircraft from the 114th Air Force Brigade published a public appeal regarding their transfer to the infantry. The sergeant said that his military unit received an order to transfer 218 people to the infantry units – almost all of the brigade's aircraft technicians. Previously, 250 people had already been transferred in this way. This brigade is equipped with MiG-29 fighters and its military personnel are involved in repelling enemy air attacks. The sergeant said that this order would render the tactical aviation brigade incapable of combat, because there would be no one to service the aircraft.

“Military”, citing sources, reported that the withdrawal of the Air Force personnel was sanctioned by the order of the commander-in-chief. In addition to the aviation units, the transfer also affected the anti-aircraft and radio-technical units of the Air Force. Journalists also noted that specialists from the Air Force ordered the transfer of the Ground Forces to the hunt, although the Ground Forces themselves have their own infantry.
