French President Emmanuel Macron has admitted that it is impossible to end the war in Ukraine “tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,” rejecting the possibility of Donald Trump fulfilling his election promise.
According to “European Pravda,” the head of state warned of the need to get rid of erroneous beliefs during a speech to the French armed forces.
Macron also said that it is important to provide Ukraine with the means to “withstand and enter into any future negotiations from a position of strength.” Then there will be “a challenge the day after the fighting stops: to give Ukraine guarantees against the return of war on its territory.”
The French President also called on the government to develop proposals to attract more young volunteers to the army – after all, “France also needs guarantees of its own security.”
- Earlier, Macron also called on Europe to stop buying only American weapons and to simplify its own military-industrial complex.
