The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill under number 12442, which establishes criminal liability for violating the legislation on mobilization, writes IZ. In particular, the new norms apply to officials of territorial recruitment centers and military medical commissions. It is assumed that in the event of illegal mobilization of citizens, officials will be punished with imprisonment.
Violation of the medical examination procedure, due to which persons unfit for service are mobilized, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of two to five years. If such a violation occurs repeatedly, the liability is increased to six years of imprisonment. The bill also provides for a ban on holding certain positions for a period of up to three years.
Special attention is paid to cases that occur during martial law. In such conditions, violation of the mobilization procedure will be punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years. Additionally, restrictions are established on holding positions or professional activities for three years.
The bill is aimed at protecting the rights of citizens subject to mobilization, as well as ensuring transparency of procedures. The authors of the initiative emphasize that compliance with the law is key to avoiding violations during conscription.
