A strange legal conflict has been eliminated in the Homes for Ukraine program.
The British government will introduce changes to the rules of the Homes for Ukraine program for Ukrainian refugees on February 4, which will eliminate some cases of family separation.
According to ZN.ua, this concerns the possibility for Ukrainians who do not have permanent residence in the United Kingdom to act as sponsors so that their minor children can enter the country.
Previously, sponsorship was only possible from British subjects or holders of a residence permit, which led to the separation of families. The easing of restrictions only applies to children – it will still not be possible to sponsor the relocation of other relatives.
Another piece of good news for Ukrainian refugees is the continuation of their visas – those who arrived in Britain after February 24, 2022, will receive an extension for 18 months.
