An armed attack occurred in the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region, as a result of which a serviceman of the territorial recruitment center died. According to the command of the Ground Forces, the incident occurred on the territory of a gas station during the escort of mobilized personnel to the training center, writes IZ. An armed man, dressed in a gray balaclava and pixelated trousers, approached the serviceman and began threatening him with a weapon, demanding to hand over his machine gun. After receiving a refusal, the attacker opened fire with a hunting rifle. The serviceman died at the scene from his injuries.
The criminal did not stop at the murder. He took the deceased's machine gun and left the scene of the crime together with one of the mobilized personnel. After the attack, an interception plan was announced, and law enforcement officers began search operations. Poltava Region Police responded promptly to the situation, deploying special forces to detain the suspects. As a result of several hours of search operations, it was possible to establish the location of the attackers and detain them.
According to law enforcement officers, the attacker turned out to be a resident of the Poltava region born in 1984. His accomplice was a man born in 1988 and a resident of Poltava. During the search, a firearm was seized from the suspect. The issue of serving a notice of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure for both defendants is currently being considered.
