British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his distrust of Vladimir Putin, stressing the need for security guarantees for Ukraine. As IZ reports with reference to the BBC, he stressed that Putin could return to aggression if given the opportunity. At the same time, Starmer expressed his support for Donald Trump, noting that the former US president seeks to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine and an end to the war.
According to Starmer, the UK and France are already working on a new peace plan for Ukraine, which will later be presented to the United States. The politician also confirmed his previous conversations with Trump and expressed confidence in his intentions. Starmer stressed the importance of US participation in ensuring peace in Ukraine, considering their support key to resolving the conflict.
Against the backdrop of these statements, Starmer noted that Ukraine needs concrete security guarantees to protect against possible Russian actions. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining international support for Kyiv, in particular from European countries and the United States, to prevent new aggression from Moscow.
