A man with 45 years of experience and a salary of 15 thousand hryvnias can count on a pension of more than 9 thousand hryvnias in March 2025. As IZ reports with reference to Economic News, such data was published based on calculations made without taking into account additional benefits. The average pension in Ukraine as of January 1, 2025 was 5,789 hryvnias, and after indexation in March, the average amount of payments increased by 9.6%. This allowed to increase pensions for those who had sufficient experience and a high level of salary.
According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the ratio of a salary of 15 thousand hryvnias to the average salary of 16,836 hryvnias, from which a single social contribution was paid, is 0.89. This ratio allows you to calculate a pension higher than the average. In addition, the average salary for the last three years was 13,559.41 hryvnias. Due to this, the calculation of a pension with 45 years of experience looks much more profitable than for those who had less experience or a lower salary.
However, the size of the pension may be higher due to additional benefits, in particular for war veterans, honorary donors and persons with special merits before the Motherland. Such categories may receive allowances that significantly increase payments. So far, the Pension Fund has not reported any new changes in the calculations, but the indexation in March has already had a positive impact on the size of pensions for many Ukrainians, in particular those with a long service record and a consistently high salary.
