Details : According to the press secretary of Lithuanian Airports Tadas Vasiliauskas, after the arrest the passenger’s belongings were carefully examined, no threatening objects were found, but because of the symbols the police and the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) were called.

“We contacted the police, we believe that they will clarify what we can do in such cases ourselves or with the help of the police. This passenger was checked. Like other passengers, he entered the waiting room without prohibited items,” he noted.

SOGG press secretary Giedrius Misutis said that the detainee did not fly out of Lithuania, and he was fined for displaying prohibited symbols.

“He intended to fly to London. He is a citizen of Lithuania. During the check of documents, the border guards took him to their premises, drew up a protocol on administrative violation under Article 524 (for displaying Nazi, communist and other prohibited symbols). After drawing up the protocol and all the procedures for it will be released,” the SOGG representative clarified.
