Details: The military showed footage of a bathroom lined with white tiles and a work room, connected by passages lined with dark concrete.

Three soldiers and two civilians were among the 240 people who were taken to the Gaza Strip by Hamas militants on October 7.

The military announced the repatriation of their bodies earlier this month.

Last week, Hamas released a video showing three hostages alive in a narrow, white-tiled, windowless bedroom with an electrical outlet.

The Iran-backed Islamist group said: “We killed three people: 'Your weapon killed three.'

Hamas previously said that some hostages died as a result of Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip. They also threatened to execute the hostages.

Background:

  • Of the 240 hostages taken by Hamas during the October 7 invasion of Israel, 129 remain in the Gaza Strip.
  • 105 civilians were released from Hamas captivity during a week-long truce in late November.
  • On December 23, it became known that Hamas had lost contact with five hostages being held in the Gaza Strip.
