The dollar exchange rate in exchange offices of Ukraine has stabilized. The single European currency is also unchanged.
RBC-Ukraine informs about this in its efforts to monitor the market.
As of early 5th, the average exchange rate for dollar sales in Ukraine has not changed – 38 , 60 hryvnia, the euro rate is 42.0 hryvnia.
In exchange offices, you buy a dollar from the middle one for 38.10 hryvnia, the euro for 41.30 hryvnia.
The exchange rate at the interbank bank is changing today at the level of 38.31 – 38.33 UAH/dollar (purchase and sale) – the increase by 3 kopecks was equalized due to the closing date of the previous day.
Official rate
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) pushed up the dollar rate. The dollar becomes more valuable the next day.
The official exchange rate for January 5, 2024 is set at the following level: 38.3135 UAH per 1 dollar (+0.1560 UAH). The euro exchange rate becomes 41.5433 hryvnia for 1 euro (+0.2798 UAH).
Currency protection
According to the NBU, Ukrainians have severely reduced the purchase of dollars from banks to 824.5 million dollars.
Buying foreign currency fell by 25.3% compared to today, as Ukrainians bought a record 11-year-old foreign currency (1.103 billion dollars).
Foreign currency is being deprived of the main form of security for Ukrainians. The National Bank of Ukraine reported an increase in foreign currency obligations by banks in 2023 by 11.8 billion dollars. This obligation includes ready-made currency for both the population and business.
The NBU does not publish absolute figures, but it has previously revealed that this amount has reached 120 billion dollars.
