Russia wants to rush to Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region before the so-called “day of victory” on May 9th. As soon as the Ukrainian troops stand, Russia’s plans to launch a counter-offensive will ultimately be defeated.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated this, RBC-Ukraine reported in his interview with NBC News.
“Russia wants to mobilize 300 thousand fighters by the 1st month. We are preparing for this. Until the 9th of May, Russia will release the insurance at the gathering of Ukraine to occupy Chasiv Yar… I will release the insurance, so we hope that defy immediately, and we can defeat the enemy, and then break up the plans of the Russian Federation for large-scale counter-offensive actions in the first place,” the president said.
Behind Zelensky’s words, today’s Ukrainian fighters, who are trying to defend themselves directly, do not see the necessary reinforcement. Therefore, the US is paying for additional assistance.

The situation at the front
It’s a good idea that earlier Zelensky named the most pressing issues at the front. Among them is Chasiv Yar. As British intelligence stated, the Russian army, during the battle for Chasiv Yar, is using the same tactics against the Ukrainian defencists as in Avdiivtsi. Lately, Zelensky stated that Ukraine has a chance to take over the initiative at the front. For this reason, according to the president, the United States is obliged to transfer the necessary troops to the Ukrainian military.
