Stoltenberg: Ukraine is not asking for NATO troops on its territory

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Jens Stoltenberg said in Italy that the Alliance still does not intend to use troops on the territory of Ukraine.

According to him, quoted by the Italian media ANSA, during his visit to Kyiv, Stoltenberg did not hear calls for sending NATO military personnel. And the talk was about the Alliance increasing support for Ukraine by supplying more weapons.

The Secretary General is convinced that Putin still believes in military victory, therefore “the only way to convince Russia to sit down for negotiations is to prove it on the field battle that it will not win,” and for this it is necessary to provide Ukraine with weapons.

During his visit to Italy, Stoltenberg thanked the country’s Prime Minister Georgie Maloney for jointly with France providing Ukraine with the SAMP/T air defense system.< /p>
