The largest European ammunition manufacturer Rheinmetall signed an agreement to open a plant in Ukraine

The largest European ammunition manufacturer Rheinmetall has signed an agreement to open a plant in Ukraine. Ammunition manufacturer Rheinmetall plans to open a new plant in Ukraine. </p>
<p>The German concern reported this on the social network X.</p>
<p>“Rheinmetall, the largest European ammunition manufacturer, plans to open a new ammunition plant in Ukraine,” the message says.</p>
<p >The document on cooperation was signed today, February 17, in the presence of the Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Alexey Makeev during the Munich Security Conference.</p>
<p>The new ammunition plant is expected to produce a six-digit number of artillery shells caliber 155 mm per year.</p>
<p>The joint venture will also produce propellant charges.</p>
<p>The German concern Rheinmetall will own 51% of the shares of the joint venture, and the Ukrainian side will own 49%.</p>

<li>This month, construction began on a Rheinmetall plant in Germany that will produce artillery shells. The cost of the plant will be approximately 300 million euros, the company will employ 500 workers.</li>
<li>At the beginning of December it became known that Rheinmetall will launch its plant in Ukraine next year. The company expects to conclude an agreement with Ukraine on the production of Fuchs armored personnel carriers and Lynx infantry fighting vehicles. The Rheinmetall plant plans to launch in 2024.</li>
<li>The German defense plant received another order for the supply of several tens of thousands of shells of various types for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2025. The value of the order is about 1.2 billion euros.</li>
<li>In October, the German defense concern and the Ukrainian Defense Industry (Ukroboronprom) formed a joint venture. The new enterprise will carry out maintenance and repair of equipment supplied by Ukrainian partners. Also at this enterprise the localization of production of leading models of Rheinmetall AG equipment will take place.</li>
