Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that the aid package for Ukraine approved yesterday by the House of Representatives should be filled with long-range weapons and air defense systems. He said this in an interview on NBC News.
“This is artillery, and strategic long-range weapons, ATACMS – all this is important in order not to lose people at the front. Because we are losing them due to the fact that we do not have appropriate long-range weapons. We need this and air defense. These are our priorities now,” the head of state said. Ukraine will have a chance to win.
“Now we have a chance to stabilize the situation and seize the initiative, so we really need to have weapons systems,” Zelensky added.
Therefore, Ukraine is now waiting for a positive decision from the Senate and hopes that it will be able to get assistance without delay.

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 65 military clashes occurred during the day .
In total, the enemy launched 4 missile and 37 air strikes, and carried out 49 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks have unfortunately resulted in civilian deaths and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 13 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka, Lugansk region, Verkhnekamenskoye, Bogdanovka, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the Avdeevka direction, our defenders repelled 9 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Ocheretino, Berdich, Umanskoye, Yasnobrodovka and Pervomaiskoye in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to oust our units from their occupied lines.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces continue to contain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Georgievka, Novomikhailovka, Vodyanoye and Urozhaynoye in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops 15 times.

In Kharkov in the evening, an explosion was heard on the outskirts. Because of the Russian attack, a civilian was injured – a 19-year-old man suffered leg injuries.
This was reported by the mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov, and later by the head of the OVA, Oleg Sinegubov.
“An explosion was heard in Kharkov. Previously, on the outskirts of the city. According to information that requires clarification, there is at least one casualty,” Terekhov wrote at 20.52.
Sinegubov clarified that a 19-year-old civilian man was injured and was hospitalized in a medical facility, where doctors are providing all necessary assistance.
In the Odessa region, attackers against police officers in the Vinnytsia region were detained. They face life imprisonment. This was announced by the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vygovsky.
The attackers were detained with the force support of the KORD special unit. The attackers are two military men, father and son, 52 and 26 years old, natives of the Vinnytsia region.
