The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the first body armor, which was adapted to the structural features of the female body.

As reported by «NBN» with reference to the press service of the department, the approval of the sample took place after a series of field tests.
«Taking into account the fact that women have narrower shoulders, and the pelvis is wider than that of men, work in the «male» version of the body armor caused inconvenience», — said the chief specialist of the Central Directorate for Development and Support of Material Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Sharko.
It is also known that the weight of a women’s body armor will depend on the size and configuration and starts from 10.5 kilograms. It also has an outward curved armor plate. In addition, in accordance with other parameters, this element of protection has no differences from a general-arms body armor, the ministry added.
A sample of the vest was developed by the domestic company «Ukrainian Armor», and its approval took place based on the results of two stages of testing. Centralized procurement of women's body armor became available after certification. In the Ministry of Defense, this process is being implemented by the agency «State Logistics Operator».
Recall that earlier the Russian Ministry of Defense began actively recruiting women for the war in Ukraine.
