Ukrainian air forces destroyed an A-50 reconnaissance aircraft of the “second army of the world” in the Azov Sea region. Russian sources began to report that the Russian Armed Forces lost an aviation unit, allegedly due to an air defense error in Crimea. In their report, ISW analysts analyzed the Russians’ version of the liquidation of the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft in the Sea of Azov area, NBN reports.

The Institute for the Study of War also drew attention to the statement of a Russian insider source. According to him, the fake about the destruction of the A-50 by the air defense of the invaders was launched in order to assure the pilots of Putin’s army that flights over the Black and Azov Seas are supposedly safe, and the destruction of the aircraft is a human error.
Note that Putin's speaker Dmitry Peskov tried to avoid answering the question about the liquidation of the A-50 and Il-22 by Ukrainian defenders.
