In an interview with the German publication Bild, the head of the German defense department assessed the military threat to the countries of the Organization North Atlantic Treaty on the part of the Russian Federation, NBN reports.
According to the minister, today he does not see the danger of an attack by the troops of a terrorist state on the territory of the Alliance. At the same time, according to the official, this is “just a freeze frame” and no one can say whether it will be preserved.
Pistorius noted that the aggressor country is now focused on the war against Ukraine. In addition, Moscow has big problems at the front, despite attempts to replenish Putin’s occupation forces.
The German Foreign Minister believes that NATO should adhere to the principle of containment, which has been familiar since the Cold War.
At the same time, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls not to ignore the aggressive rhetoric of the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin against NATO. The department recalled how the Russian leader threatened Ukraine on the eve of the invasion.
