The head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry on his page on the social network X commented on the idea of French President Emmanuel Macron to station NATO armed forces on the territory of Ukraine, NBN reports.
The diplomat wrote that the fate of European states is being decided on the battlefield in Ukraine. During the war, according to the head of the foreign policy department, political leadership, ambition and the courage to think outside the box are needed.
The Lithuanian minister noted that the initiative of the head of France regarding the introduction of NATO troops into Ukrainian territory, which was voiced at a conference in Paris February 27, deserves attention.
Earlier, Landbergis said that Russia wants to test the strength of NATO states. According to the diplomat, members of the organization should prepare for a possible sudden invasion of Putin's troops into the territory of the Alliance.
