On the fact that, based on the personnel and material restrictions of the Russian Federation, Moscow, it seems, is not ;will be able to adequately take advantage of these “strategic reserves” as a cohesive formation for full participation in combat operations in Ukraine, writes NBN, citing the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to opinion analysts of the Institute for the Study of War, the aggressor country will only be able to use new units as a reserve of “manpower,” that is, to make up for losses on the front line.
Such supposedly “powerful strategic reserves,” in theory, can have the potential to serve as a first-echelon assault force, a second-echelon infiltration/support force, and are also likely capable of carrying out large-scale mechanized attacks on Ukrainian defensive lines, achieving operationally significant successes, however, only under one condition—“liberators” fully equipped and properly prepared.
In addition, in accordance with the forecasts of ISW experts, Russia is not in a position to create a “strategic reserve” capable of performing all of the above functions.
Earlier, we wrote that ISW assessed the likelihood of re-occupation of the right bank of the Kherson region.
