The French publication Le Monde, citing the words of a German diplomat, stated that a number of EU countries refuse to supply Ukraine with their air defense systems. These include Poland, Great Britain, Spain and the Netherlands, NBN reports.
According to the journalists’ interlocutor, these states refuse to part with their air defense installations. In particular, Warsaw does not want to strengthen the air defense of Ukraine due to the proximity of Poland to it and the Republic of Belarus.
A French source told the publication that Paris and Rome also had great difficulties with the supply of SAMP/T air defense systems, an analogue of American anti-aircraft systems Patriot missile systems. The interlocutor added that work is underway on this in the French administration and with the Italian partner.
Earlier, the British edition of the Financial Times reported that the leaders of the European Union and NATO are putting pressure on the two countries to send their air defense systems to Ukraine.
