Fico said that 4 million euros of aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is like a drop in the bucket, calling the Slovaks’ collection “useless.” The Prime Minister is also convinced that nothing will change in Ukraine, and some of the money may be stolen, NBN reports.
On Friday, May 10, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at a press conference with his colleague from Slovakia Zuzana Caputova commented on the words of Fico, whose government refuses to provide military assistance to our country, regarding the collection of funds for the purchase of shells for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Guarantor thanked the Slovaks, who from the first days of the full-scale invasion continue to support Ukraine, no matter what and on no one.
The President emphasized that skepticism in the issue of military assistance to Kyiv sometimes exists “until the war comes to your home.” The head of state wished the residents of Slovakia never to see what the Ukrainians saw, and that hostilities would not come to the territory of their country.
Zelensky added that if Ukraine is not helped, it will weaken, and the Kremlin dictator will approaching the destruction of our state. If Russian troops capture our country, they will end up on the border of Slovakia.
Earlier, the Ukrainian leader said that Georgia and Belarus should become members of the European Union.
