In an interview with the American publication The New York Times, the general said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces will stabilize within a few days situation in the Kharkov region, however, the Russian Armed Forces may move in the direction of Sumy, NBN reports.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU expects that in the Kharkov region the attacks of Putin’s army will last another 3-4 days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to strengthen their positions and stabilize front. After this, according to the military leader, the Russian invaders may launch a new offensive north of the region, in the Sumy region.
Journalists also quote a Ukrainian officer who operates near the border with the Russian Federation in the Sumy region, Pavel Velichko. The serviceman said that recently the Russians have intensified shelling of the outskirts of the regional center.
The officer does not know whether this has any significance, since the occupiers have struck these places before. In any case, the Defense Forces in the region are in full combat readiness.
Recall that in early May, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Pavlyuk, stated that the Russians have a plan to capture Kharkov and Sumy.
