Analysts at the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology reported that in Ukraine the number of citizens who are ready to make concessions to the Russian Federation for the sake of peace has tripled. Experts showed the corresponding research results.

The results of the KIIS opinion poll showed that in in all regions, the number of Ukrainians who are ready to “cede” occupied territories to the Russian Federation has tripled compared to the first spring in conditions of a full-scale war, NBN reports.
In May 2022, 10% of respondents stated that Ukraine, in order to achieve peace and preserve its independence, could give up some of its territories, while 82% of respondents would under no circumstances give up the occupied regions to the enemy. A year later, the number of supporters of territorial concessions to the Russian Federation did not change (10%), 84% of Ukrainians opposed this scenario.
Poll data for May 2024 showed a significant increase in the number of respondents who believe that Ukraine needs to accept the country’s conditions -aggressor for the sake of a speedy end to the war, up to 32%. At the same time, the majority of citizens still do not intend to give up the occupied regions to the Russian Federation – 55%.
