As NBN reports with a link to the official page of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Beijing has a positive attitude towards the beginning of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia, but there are a number of nuances.
According to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the procedure for resolving any conflicts should ultimately end at the negotiating table. In particular, in recent weeks, both Kyiv and Moscow have been intensively sending multifaceted signals regarding their readiness to begin negotiations, but the “conditions and time” for this have not yet arrived.
The Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized:
…We support all efforts that contribute to peace, and are ready to continue to play a constructive role in this.
At the same time, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reminded that Beijing is paying attention to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, and is not… will stop providing non-lethal material assistance to Kyiv.
