The head of the Ministry of Finance in an interview with the publication “RBK-Ukraine” said that the war in our country will continue next year, so it needs additional financial assistance from Western partners, NBN reports.
According to Marchenko, his department, together with the International Monetary Fund, estimates Ukraine's additional financial needs for 2025 at 12-15 billion dollars. This amount of financial assistance will allow our country to have a buffer.
The minister said that now, according to the IMF program, financial assurances from partners are not enough for the government to submit a balanced budget for 2025 to the Verkhovna Rada.
The official added that the Ukrainian leadership, when making the difficult decision to raise taxes, should also send a signal to its allies and shut the mouths of critics who accuse our country of not making enough of a contribution to covering the budget deficit.
Recall that the US Treasury Department announced when Ukraine will receive the first 50 billion dollars from the frozen assets of the terrorist state.
