The American publication Forbes writes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces “minus” a Mi-8 of the army over the temporarily captured territory of Donetsk for the first time Putin, using an FPV drone, NBN reports.
Journalists note that such use of UAVs by the defenders has been brewing for a long time, since a year ago the Ukrainian Armed Forces first tried to hit Russian Armed Forces helicopters using drones. In turn, the invaders began to allocate helicopters to escort other helicopters.
The helicopter is moving at a speed of more than 250 km/h and is flying too high to be hit by a drone. However, the experienced UAV operator who destroyed the Mi-8 was able to hit the enemy helicopter with three crew members when it was still close to the ground.
The media notes that now the Ukrainian Defense Forces will be able to redouble their efforts to destroy the aviation of the “second army in the world” and the Russian invaders will face a new problem.
Earlier, in the Pokrovsk direction, anti-aircraft gunners of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Su-25 attack aircraft of Putin's army, which was trying to attack the defenders' positions.
