To attract young staff to teaching in institutions of general secondary, extracurricular and vocational education, the educational department developed a concept for raising salaries – based on the norms of legislation, it was envisaged to adjust salaries to three “minimums”.

As NBN reports with reference to the statement of the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Oksen Lisovy, published by Ukrinform, Ukrainian teachers, despite all of the above, may not hope for a salary increase in the short term, since there is currently a rather difficult situation with the expenditure side of the state budget.
According to Lisovy, his department understands perfectly well what a decent salary level means for teachers, including the fact that stable and high incomes encourage teachers to self-development and contribute to professional growth. However, today there is a critical situation in the state budget, “it is too complicated.”
The official emphasized that at the current stage, more than 70 percent of the state budget is spent on defense needs, and as soon as the war ends, the opportunity will open to implement the “salary concept”, so to speak, “first and foremost”:
We will protect the country, beat off the enemy, and transfer education to priority No. 1.
Earlier we wrote about the fact that the Ministry of Finance showed how Ukrainians' salaries would change after the military tax was raised to 5 percent.
