During a meeting with the German Chancellor, Tokayev complained that the refusal to conclude the Istanbul Agreement allegedly the chance for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine was missed, NBN reports, citing the press service of the head of state.
The President of Kazakhstan said that the aggressive country is allegedly invincible in military terms. He claims that the escalation of hostilities threatens irreparable consequences not only for the states “drawn” into the war, but also for all of humanity.
The politician also believes that there is still an opportunity to achieve peace, calling for careful consideration of all proposals from other countries. In particular, he believes that it is worth supporting the plan to end the war from China and Brazil, which plays into the hands of the Russians. Tokayev added that discussions of territorial issues should begin only after the end of hostilities.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the “peace initiatives” of China and Brazil destructive. The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to the president's words.
