As reported by “NBN” with reference to the MacRumors material, the insider Phone Chip Expert believes that the key innovation of the iPhone 18 series will be a microprocessor manufactured using the advanced 2-nanometer process technology by TSMC.
As it became known, the iPhone 18 will be assembled using a different standard for component placement—WMCM (Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module): all the main elements of the “gadget,” such as the processor, graphics core, RAM, and modem, will be built into one compact chip.
The above-described technology will increase the power and performance of smartphones, reducing energy consumption. Thus, the entire iPhone 18 lineup will receive at least 12 GB of RAM (to support new functionality related to artificial intelligence (AI)), which is a significant improvement when compared to the iPhone 16, which uses 8 GB.
