Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has condemned the Biden administration's decision to allow Ukraine to fire ATACMS missiles at Russia, calling it an “unprecedented escalation.”

The head of the Slovak government criticized the decision on his Facebook account The White House has authorized the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike the territory of the aggressor country with ATACMS missiles, the NBN publication reports.
In a video address, the politician accused American leader Joe Biden of allegedly wanting to disrupt or delay peace talks by lifting the ban on long-range weapons strikes against the Russian Federation.
The Prime Minister reported that the head of the Ministry of Defense and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia received his order not to support Washington's decision in any way.
Fico added that lifting the restriction on the use of American weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces is an “unprecedented escalation of tensions.” The politician is “surprised” at how quickly a number of EU countries welcomed Biden's decision.
The Bratislava representative added that the White House will allegedly significantly influence the plans of the newly elected US leader Donald Trump, who is interested in holding talks to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Earlier, Andrzej Duda commented on the US decision, criticizing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for talking to the head of the Kremlin.
