A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told Radio Liberty that Pyongyang transferred 9,000 North Korean fighters to Moscow, of which 2,000 soldiers were transferred to combat units of Putin's army, the NBN publication reports.
Chernyak commented on information from the Bloomberg agency, which reported that Pyongyang could increase its contingent in Russia to 100,000 fighters. He stated that, according to estimates by Ukrainian military intelligence, the DPRK could indeed send such a number of soldiers to the Russian Federation.
In exchange for manpower, Kim Jong-un could “bargain” from the Kremlin for resources that North Korea needs, such as food, technology, and the latest weapons.
A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate said that there are three options for the use of DPRK fighters by Russian occupiers. The invaders can send them to the front in Ukraine, use them in battles in the Kursk region, or leave them in operational reserve on the second line of defense.
In the interview, Chernyak also named the number of DPRK missiles that Putin's army used to shell Ukraine.
