On December 4, Reuters reported that the team of the newly elected American leader is considering three strategies to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, the NBN publication reports.
All three plans, which are in the center of attention of the 47th head of the White House, have some common elements, for example, they do not provide for the integration of Ukraine into NATO.
The first strategy for ending the war belongs to Keith Kelleh, whom Trump appointed as a special representative for Ukraine and the Russian Federation. It proposes freezing hostilities along the current front line, security guarantees for Ukraine from Washington, as well as an increase in arms supplies after the signing of a peace agreement. In addition, Kiev should postpone the question of membership in the Alliance.
The second plan was proposed by the elected US Vice President J.D. Vance. The politician wants to create a demilitarized zone on the current front line with strong fortifications to deter possible new Russian invasions. Kyiv should also abandon integration into NATO.
The third strategy belongs to the former head of US National Intelligence Richard Grenell. He proposed creating “autonomous zones” in eastern Ukraine. His plan also calls for Ukraine to refuse to join the Alliance.
Recall that in an interview with a foreign media outlet, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about his expectations for the policy of the new US administration.
