The head of Germany's defense department said the aggressive country has been increasing its presence in the Baltic Sea for some time now and has repeatedly demonstrated provocative behavior there.
This was reported by the NBN publication with reference to n-tv.
A Berlin representative specified that Russia has increased the number of its naval ships in the Baltic Sea, as well as civilian vessels. Sometimes the PRC fleet is also present in the waters.
According to the official, this speaks to the importance of the Baltic Sea for Moscow and China, in particular in terms of bypassing sanctions. There, the Russians have repeatedly staged provocations, typical of the Cold War era, to test the reaction of NATO countries.
As reported, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that Russia “had a hand” in many armed conflicts on the planet. In this regard, the British minister addressed the allies.
