The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike of the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation on the night of Thursday, December 19.

At night, residents of Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov Region complained about a “sea of explosions” and machine gun fire – the city was attacked by long-range missiles and drones.
Soon after the “bavovna”, a fire broke out at the local oil refinery, which was confirmed by the acting governor of the region, Yuriy Slyusar, the NBN publication reports.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the infrastructure and production facilities of the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery, which was carried out by the Navy, the SBU, and other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The department explained that this enterprise is the only oil refinery that operates in the region and meets the needs of Putin's occupation army for the war against Ukraine. It produces fuel oil, heating oil, marine and diesel fuel, and straight-run gasoline. The design refining capacity at the refinery reaches 7.5 million tons of oil annually.
