The former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States admitted in an interview with OBOZ.UA that he is deeply pessimistic about the current position of the newly elected head of the White House on the war. The diplomat believes that our country is in a zone of very serious risks, given that the 47th American president may reduce aid to Kyiv, writes NBN.
According to him, Trump-appointed US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg will come to Kyiv to “assess the position and degree of flexibility” of our country's authorities. After his visit to the Ukrainian capital, the general will share his findings with the newly elected US leader.
Shamshur believes that the main communicator between Washington and Europe may not be French leader Emmanuel Macron or Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, but Giorgia Meloni, since she is ideologically close to the Republican and he respects her.
The former ambassador drew attention to the fact that the 47th US President, the American billionaire and the head of the Italian government dined together after the official opening of Notre Dame Cathedral. After this, the newly elected American leader declared his readiness to work with her.
The diplomat believes that this is good for Ukraine, since Meloni supports our country and takes a position favorable to it.
It should be noted that, as the Politexpert publication writes, Trump's return to the White House is causing concern among European leaders.
Earlier, the media reported that the politician's team is considering three options for ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.
