In the summer of 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron made an official statement that his country was ready to soon provide Ukraine with Mirage-2000 fighters.

As NBN reports with reference to the material from Avions Legendaires, the first batch, consisting of 3 modernized French Dassault Aviation Mirage-2000/5F fighters, will arrive in Ukraine no later than January 20 of this year.
As it became known, these aircraft (3 out of the promised 10) were removed from storage at the French Air Force warehouses for preliminary adaptation to the performance of combat missions by the Ukrainian Air Force.
In particular, the French personnel equipped the fighters with pylons/suspensions that allow the use of Scalp-EG and Storm Shadow cruise missiles, thereby significantly expanding the capabilities of the basic Dassault Aviation Mirage-2000 model: our pilots will be able to carry out high-precision strikes at targets located at a great distance.
According to information available from unspecified sources, these modern aircraft are already based on Ukrainian territory, and the pilots are conducting training flights.
Taking into account all of the above, the Mirage-2000/5F will become another “Western” fighter delivered to the Air Force.
