As reported by NBN, citing a statement by Viktor Tregubov, spokesman for the Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSGV) “Khortytsia”, published by Suspilny, the defenders retained some of their positions within the Kurakhovo perimeter, meaning that the “liberators” failed to fully occupy the city.
Based on Tregubov's words, fierce fighting continues in the Kurakhovo area. In particular, our country's Defense Forces continue to hold a foothold on the local thermal power plant (TPP), and for this reason, “we cannot now” claim that Putin's army has taken the city completely under control.
At the same time, the Khortytsia speaker added that most of Kurakhovo was simply razed to rubble, which seriously complicated the defense, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not leave this settlement.
Tregubov summarized:
Since Ukrainian troops still maintain positions within the city limits, we cannot talk about any kind of abandonment.
