Former Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said in an interview with the Russian propaganda publication Komsomolskaya Pravda that the negotiation process on Ukraine should allegedly take place only between Moscow and Washington.
According to him, “there is nothing to talk about with London and Brussels,” so other Western countries should not participate in the negotiations, NBN reports.
The Kremlin dictator's aide believes that the EU leadership “has long since lost the right” to speak on behalf of the organization's member states, in particular Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and Austria. Putin's ally claims that these states “take a balanced position” regarding the Russian Federation and are “interested in stability in Europe.”
The official added that Moscow intends to achieve the goals of the so-called “special operation” in Ukraine and wants the world to recognize Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporozhye, and the Crimean Peninsula as part of the aggressor country.
As reported, the Kremlin responded to the proposal of the Serbian and Swiss authorities to organize a meeting between Putin and Trump.
