As NBN reports with reference to the material of The Times, the new White House administration, judging by everything, will demand that Kyiv lower the “bar” of the draft age in Ukraine to 18 years, promising in exchange to continue providing weapons and ammunition.
According to the publication, fulfilling the above-described requests for President Volodymyr Zelensky will be crossing a “red line”, since the Ukrainian leader previously protected “the youngest men of his country” from being drawn into a “conflict” that has exhausted the limited forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, The Times added – evasion from mobilization in Ukraine is widespread, since war fatigue has set in, and lowering the draft age, it seems, will prove “politically fatal.”
Also, the author of the article is confident that Trump's “peace plan” provides for the concession of 20 percent of Ukrainian territories to the Russian Federation, but such a “bitter pill” the Western countries will probably sweeten with security guarantees for the lands (deployment of a foreign peacekeeping contingent) controlled by Ukraine.
