Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (No. 27 WTA) failed to reach the semifinals of the singles Australian Open-2025.
In the 1/4 finals, the 30-year-old native of Odessa lost in a tense fight to American Madison Keys (No. 14 WTA). The match lasted 1 hour 54 minutes and ended with a score of 6:3, 3:6, 4:6.
During her time on the court, Elina served 3 aces, made one double fault and converted 1 of 2 break points. She also had 20 winners and 15 unforced errors.
This was the sixth face-to-face meeting between the tennis players. In their personal duels, the score was 4:2 in Keys' favor.
In the semifinals, Madison will play against Poland's Iga Swiatek (No. 2 WTA), who defeated American Emma Navarro (No. 8 WTA) in the quarterfinals with a score of 6:1, 6:2.
Elina played in the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournaments for the twelfth time.
