The Main Intelligence Directorate has reported details of a new cyberattack on Gazprom infrastructure

From February 7 to 8, specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful special operation aimed at the cyberspace of the aggressor country.

The Main Intelligence Directorate reported details of a new cyberattack on Gazprom infrastructure

As reported by NBN, citing Suspilny's sources in the intelligence services, this type of attack was directed at Gazprom's main contractor, the Gazstroyprom (GSP) company, which is financing the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.

In particular, the Ukrainian cyberattack affected the corresponding infrastructure:

  • Gazprom-Avtomatizatsiya;
  • GSP-Komplektatsiya;
  • InfoService-Region;
  • Vector-Vostok;
  • SSK-Gazregion;
  • GSP-Center;
  • GSP-Service;
  • «GSP-technologies»;
  • «GSP-mechanizations»;
  • «GSP-oil and gas processing»;
  • «GSP-processing»;
  • «GSP-GSM»;
  • «GSP-1»;
  • «GSP-2»;
  • «GSP-4»;
  • «GSP-5»;
  • «GSP-6»;
  • «GSP-7»;
  • «Spheres-group»;
  • «GSP-investments»,
  • «Gazstroyprom-autotransport enterprise»;
  • «GSP-finance».

As a result of the above-described special operation, at least 120 physical hypervisor servers were hacked and disabled, and data was also deleted from file storage (documentation was destroyed by 2,000 Terabytes).

In addition, 10,000 computers of employees of critical enterprises of the Russian Federation were put into a state of unusability with the simultaneous shutdown of all systems and services.

The Main Intelligence Directorate added that the losses caused to Gazprom companies will amount to tens to hundreds of millions of US dollars.
