As reported by NBN, citing sources from The Telegraph, White House chief Donald Trump is ready to redeploy American troops from Germany to a certain Eastern European country.
Trump is reportedly considering withdrawing some 35,000 troops from Germany, ignoring the potential strain on relations between the US and some European countries.
The Telegraph's sources point out that the current US president has repeatedly stressed that European countries need to invest more in their defence capabilities. In addition, Trump is increasingly frustrated by the EU's alleged desire to enter the war.
The Pentagon is constantly considering the possibility of redeploying American troops around the world in an effort to “best respond” to emerging threats to US interests, according to White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes.
The publication notes that Trump believes that it would be better to deploy American troops in Hungary (and not Germany), despite Budapest’s support for close economic and political cooperation with Moscow.
