Director of Defense Express Sergey Zgurets answered whether there are preconditions for an offensive by Russian occupation forces on Sumy.

The analyst stated on the Espresso TV channel that at the moment there is no significant threat to the city of Sumy. The operation in the Kursk region continues, although some units of the Defense Forces have left their positions in the region.
The Director of Defense Express noted that at the same time, the occupiers are trying to break through to the territory of the Ukrainian region in order to cut off the logistics routes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that lead to Sumy, writes the publication “NBN”.
Zgurets explained that the current supply restrictions facing the defenders are now also hindering the occupiers. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have strengthened their defensive positions, taking advantage of shorter logistics and commanding heights near the border, making it more difficult for Putin's army to attempt any offensives.
The expert added that the Russian Armed Forces will also be hampered by the exhaustion of the invaders and the fortifications that were built in advance on the territory of Sumy region. The analyst concluded that the current situation, geography and logistics do not give the Russians any particular advantages for an offensive on Sumy.
