Almost 90 UAH per kilogram: supermarkets sharply increased prices for citrus fruits before the holidays

Analysts and representatives of large chain supermarkets in our country warned not so long ago that if the blocking of borders by Polish carriers and farmers is not lifted 2 weeks before the arrival of 2024, then prices in Ukraine will increase by a whole a list of various goods, both food and industrial.

Let us note that traditionally, winter holidays cannot do without citrus fruits, in particular, without the usual sweet and sour tangerines, and, apparently, not only because of the strike at the borders, but also due to high demand, the cost of these fruits, when compared with November, has increased sharply—from 48.59 hryvnia/kilogram to hryvnia/kilogram. However, tangerines of the Clementine variety will cost somewhat “cheaper” than was recorded in November – only 87.4 hryvnia/kilogram.

In addition, oranges have become less accessible—the price increased from 69.67 hryvnia/kilogram to 77.37 hryvnia/kilogram. In turn, Turkish oranges, due to the harvest in this country, have become cheaper by a few kopecks—62.9 hryvnia/kilogram, and premium ones are sold at 71.45 hryvnia/kilogram.
