Quarantine and masks are returning to Ukraine due to coronavirus

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine warns of the possibility of introducing quarantine measures in some cities of the country due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, writes WomanEL. Despite the lifting of the nationwide quarantine, basic anti-epidemic and preventive standards remain relevant on an ongoing basis, reports the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Medical masks, maintaining social distance and the possibility of introducing local quarantine in individual cities or regions are determined by exceeding the epidemic threshold. The incidence rate is taken into account separately for each region, taking into account the size of the population and the intensity of the spread of respiratory viral infections.

According to the Ministry of Health, since October in Ukraine, more than 1.9 million people have been ill with ARVI, influenza and COVID-19, of which 56% are children. The ministry urges citizens not to self-medicate and, in case of the first signs of illness, to contact their family doctor.

In Kyiv, they recommend returning to wearing a mask in crowded places. First Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Nikolai Povoroznik noted the importance of these measures, especially given the growing number of respiratory diseases in the world and in Ukraine.

At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) supports safety measures, such as the mask regime and social distance to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
