For Ukraine, this is a relatively new area of psychosocial therapy, although it has been practiced in the world for about 20 years. The center employs qualified psychologists and dog handlers, and the dogs are specially trained and meet the necessary program criteria and international certificates.

Although therapy with dogs is not regulated in Ukraine at the legislative level, the center's animals receive international certificates such as IAHAIO, PADA, ASB,
the foundation reported.
Interaction with dogs reduces cortisol levels and stimulates the production of endorphins. In addition, communication with dogs helps increase the level of serotonin and dopamine, which contribute to a good mood.

The Capital Canistherapy Center operates with the support of a charitable foundation. Soon, similar centers will appear in other regions of Ukraine.
