On the eve of the premiere of the legendary ballet “Coppelia” at the National Opera of Ukraine, famous fashion photographer Rostyslav Arno, together with students of the Kyiv Choreographic College, created a unique project. They were also joined by the prima ballerina of the National Opera Kateryna Kukhar, writes WomanEL.

The heroes of the classic love triangle appeared in a modern image thanks to dresses by designer Kateryna Rutman. Arnaud explained that this is not just a photo shoot, but an attempt to convey the spirit of ballet through the camera lens.
My main goal is to show not only the technical perfection of the dancers, but also their emotional depth, sophistication and intense beauty that they put into every movement, – added the photographer.
The images of the heroes were embodied by students Valery Khovanov, Zlata Loseva and Sofia Zhereb. For Kateryna Kuhar, this production has a special meaning, because it was “Coppelia” that helped her return to the stage after a serious injury. She believes that ballet inspires young people and gives them stage “wings”, especially in wartime conditions.

Valery Khovanov, according to Kuhar, has already become a promising premier who has been noticed by leading theaters of the country.
I look at the soloists of the production – and I feel proud of their dance, we have an extremely talented, beautiful and conscious generation. They not only perform their parts technically well, but also fill them with inner meaning, radiating true aesthetics and giving the audience a good mood and sincere emotions, – noted the prima ballerina.
The premiere of “Coppelia” promises to be one of the main events of the theater season, combining classics and modernity.
