Dmytro and Svetlana met many years ago, and, according to him, there was immediate chemistry between them. However, at that time, each of them had their own lives, plans, and commitments, so their paths diverged.
Fate brought them together again 20 years later. Since then, the couple has been together, living under the same roof since 2021, but Kuleba is in no hurry to formalize this relationship officially. When the host asked if they planned to legalize their relationship, Dmytro only shook his head and honestly admitted.
“Honestly, we didn't even think about it or talk about it. But we were already married and we know that the very fact of the stamp in the passport – it doesn't unite. Moreover, it doesn't hold, so it's such a formality,” said Kuleba.
According to the politician, the stamp in the passport is not an indicator of the authenticity of feelings for him. He believes that their relationship does not need to be formalized, since everything is fine between them.
Interestingly, Svetlana doesn't make a problem out of it either. In the conversation, Dmytro didn't mention any pressure or hint from her about the wedding. It seems that both of them are completely satisfied with the format of the relationship in which they live now.
The politician calls Svitlana his common-law wife or partner and emphasizes that this in no way diminishes the level of their feelings.
Kuleba's decision not to get married is far from an isolated case. Today, more and more couples choose civil marriage and do not consider it less serious than official one. The main thing is trust, mutual understanding and comfort in the relationship, not documents.
So whether Dmytro's opinion will change in the future – only time will tell. But one thing is clear: he is happy in the format he has chosen for himself.
