During a Coldplay concert in the United States, a fan’s camera captured Astronomer CEO Andy Byron embracing an unidentified woman. Once the pair noticed the camera, they quickly distanced themselves and attempted to cover their faces. The clip quickly went viral, garnering over 50 million views on TikTok within 24 hours, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to CNN.
Social media users accused Byron of infidelity, as he is known to be married. Journalists later identified the woman in the video as Kristin Cabot, the Head of Human Resources at the same company, Astronomer.
On July 19, the company officially announced that Andy Byron had submitted his resignation, which the board of directors unanimously accepted. In a public statement, Astronomer emphasized its commitment to the values and culture established since the company’s founding. The statement noted that recent actions had not upheld the standards expected from company leadership.
Byron has not publicly commented on the incident. His LinkedIn profile has been removed, and his wife, Megan, deactivated her Facebook account and removed his surname from her profile.
